Do you cringe when your teenager starts a sentence with "Why can't you...",  I do. Usually. it means the start of a fight. Parenting can be such a rollercoaster of emotions.  How can this man standing in front of me be the same boy I rocked to sleep when he had a bad dream?  Opps I slipped into reminiscing again...  back to teenagers.  Last week, in a last minute request, Hey, I need an extra $20 bucks, I need to take her out on a date and I don't have any money...  Wait... what?  you're 15.

T - So, I need some money and already promised her I would take her out
Me -(as i get in the car to drop him off)  I give you an allowance and a way to earn money with your grades.
T- But I need it now, Why can't you just give me money like other parents?
Me - Grrrrrr, cause you have to EARN IT just like I do.
T - Come on mom can't you be cool just once...
Me - Ok , but it will be advance on your allowance or grade money
T- Geeezz mom that is so lame

--- an hour later
T - text's me... Can you send me more money I don't have enough for the bill...
M - where are you?
T - El Ranchito, I didn't know it was so expensive...
(ok instead of stating the obvious, Like, look at the prices on the menu before you order!)
M - I sent him $10 more with a text that he is in debt for $30 dollars
T - Thanks mom love you...

- Right he loves me when I give him money.
- Today its - "You need to buy me a dance ticket!
M - Wow, nice way to ask, how much, you know you are in debt to me. It's coming out of your savings.

Parents, kids are expensive and you thought all the baby stuff was expensive wait till you get into High School Sports, Dances and clothes.
